Congratulations to sophomore Ella Dillon for being named Spartan of the Week! (Week of November 13):

Ella Dillon - SOTW (1)

“Ella is an amazing teammate on Athens Academy’s Flag Football team and her leadership on and off the field has been pivotal to the team’s success! She is committed to practices and works at home to prepare for the games which demonstrates her dedication and preparation. Her versatility to play in all three phases of the game has been incredible! Ella in her role as quarterback has become a true leader on the team. In the game against Monroe Area, Ella led the team back from a 0-6 halftime deficit to tie the game in regulation.  During overtime, she and her teammates on defense stopped the opponent from scoring.  Then, on offense, Ella went through her reads before pulling the ball down and running two plays consecutively for the game winning touchdown!  Ella gives her all for the team and epitomizes the Spartan spirit!” – Alan Weiler, Head Coach Varsity Flag Football
