“Kaitlyn has been a remarkable asset to the Athens Academy flag football team. Even while recovering from an injury, she remained steadfast in her commitment, diligently attending practices to master the intricacies of the game and uplifting her teammates during games with her positive attitude. Her perseverance and dedication were rewarded when she was unexpectedly called upon to fill the critical role of Center during the team’s first-round playoff game. This opportunity showcased her confidence, versatility, and unwavering support for her teammates. The coaches are excited to see her continued growth and development as a player.”

Attention Students!

You can make online requests to add or change your second-semester electives. Please note that only students who wish to add or change an elective need to submit a request. Be sure to check SpartanNet for detailed, step-by-step instructions on how to complete your request.

Other Important Reminders:

  • Not all students will need to request an elective. If you’re happy with your current electives, no action is required.

  • Students enrolled in Band & Orchestra do not need to re-enroll for the second semester.

  • Academic sections will not be adjusted to accommodate elective requests.

  • Priority will be given to upperclassmen when processing elective requests.

  • Freshmen wishing to drop a study hall must be in good academic standing. Additionally, requests for a second elective will need parent and Registrar approval.

  • Tutoring Services: If you receive tutoring, please include a note with your request so we can ensure your schedule is properly coordinated.

  • Only electives for which you meet the prerequisites will be available for selection.

If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Bowles at jbowles@athensacademy.org

Winter Break

  • Academic classes will be held whether or not an exam is given, and students are expected to attend all of their academic classes; students should know whether or not to expect an exam in the fall and the spring or if their classes will have alternative assessments instead.
  • Students are expected to stay for the entire testing time (block) and may not leave if they finish early.
  • Mrs. Zalac must approve pre-arranged absences.
  • When students have free blocks, (non-academic) electives, or study halls, they needn’t attend school although students may be on campus; we will have supervision for students who need to be on campus for the entire day (bus riders or others who need to stay).
  • Students who receive extended time should be proactive about their exams and be sure that they have time for lunch if they have two exams in one day.
  • As always, the honor code will be followed and enforced.

** Tillman Center will be open for all US students from 11:55-12:25 only.
