Congratulations to seniors Veronika Babbitt & Maxwell Bracewell
for being named Spartans of the Week(Week of May 5):

“Veronika has been so consistently excellent throughout her career, we sometimes take it for granted. She always delivers and can always be counted on. Veronika has a passion for the sport and travels extensively to pursue the hammer and javelin, two events that are not contested in Georgia. Even though she is very much a star she is also a very team oriented athlete. Veronika often stays long past her event conclusion to support her teammates and to help clean up our camp. Stanford University is not just getting a first class athlete but a first class young woman as well.”
– Neville Anderson, Head Coach Varsity Girls Track & Field

“Maxwell is proof that relentless, hard work pays off. Over the last four years, he has worked his way from participant, to letterman, now to track star status. He is the first athlete to show up before meets to help load the bus and the last to stay to help pack up for the journey home after meets. At our sectional state qualifying meet, Maxwell led all 300 intermediate hurdlers with a time of 42.05, which currently ranks #4 all-time in ACAD Track & Field history. No one on our coaching staff saw this breakout performance coming! He shows up with a great attitude, is coachable and works extremely hard. Our coaching staff & I are so proud of him. Salute to a great career young man!”
– Neville Anderson, Head Coach Varsity Boys Track & Field
