“Bryce and Maya are showing us the benefits of summer training. They both were diligent and preparing over the hot summer months and have had strong starts to our season. Maya has dominated both of our first two races finishing each one with a first place finish and the all-around fastest time. The girls have won both of those races!

Bryce had a strong race last weekend and followed that up with a remarkable race this weekend. After falling in the first hundred meters of the race, Bryce got up and finished first for Athens Academy and 12th overall. His race helped lead the boys team to a 6th place finish in the North Georgia Invitational.

Congratulations to Maya and Bryce for being honored as this weeks’ Spartans of the Week!” – Geoffrey Walton, Head Coach Varsity Cross Country
