Club Draft Assembly: Wednesday, Sept. 16!

Dillon

Kleiber

Congratulations to senior Kate Kleiber & sophomore Robbie Dillon for being named SPARTANS OF THE WEEK (week of August 24): As a senior, Kate had a tremendous first race at the Jefferson Invitational while the team brought home a 2nd Place Trophy. She tied her PR; finishing 2nd on the team and 11th overall. Kate’s hard work and positive attitude help lead the way on a team that has great potential this year! After a summer of training hard, Robbie started the season finishing 2nd on the team and 8th overall at the Jefferson Invitational. He helped lead the team to a 2nd place finish. Setting a 30 second PR in our first race shows how dedicated he was this summer. – Geoffrey Walton, Head Coach, Varsity Cross Country

Please SLOW DOWN when you are on campus or coming to campus, especially in the parking lots and Spartan Lane. Remember to park in your appropriate lots, too! Thank you for your cooperation!

Until Club Draft officially takes place in September club leaders can meet Wednesday mornings to begin thinking about recruitment and year goals. Students that are not involved in clubs yet do not need to be on campus until their first class (with parent permission).

**Please Note: Beginning August 31, the Bertelsmann Building will be close each day at 4:30pm. Please make arrangements to be picked up by 4:30pm at the latest.**

Please see this message in regards to guidelines for common spaces.

The Boys and Girls Club is starting back up this year virtually!  They need volunteers to help with creating fun online games as well as managing the kids in groups as they play!  We were thinking about kahoots, pictionary, and other online group games!  The kids will be in the 1st-5th grades and these will primarily take place on Wednesday’s from 4:15-5:15!  There will be about 20-25 kids in a group. If you are interested please let McKenzie Elrod or Alex Oh know because we want to get a rough list of volunteers as soon as possible so we can start working on fun things for the kids to do!

Hi, everybody!

I hope that y’all are doing well and getting back into the swing of things with school starting!
Back to school is really hectic for everybody, especially this year, but at ACAD we are really fortunate in that our families can provide the supplies we need. Many families in the Athens Clarke County Area cannot, so now is the perfect time to give back to our community! Student Council, Honor Council, 17, and Interact are super excited to kick off our service projects for the year by collecting school supplies for local schools!

Items We Need:
Erasers, bookbags, pocket folders, watercolor paints, computer mouses, index cards, construction paper, glue, rulers, graph paper, 3 ring binders, headphones with microphones (new), small dry erase boards, calculators, snacks, pencils, dry erase markers, earplugs (individually wrapped), wet wipes, pens, crayons, highlighters, colored pencils, notebooks, paper, scissors, pencil sharpeners, pencil boxes, markers, and notebooks!

We will be collecting these supplies this Thursday, Friday, and Monday (8/27-8/31)! Bring them to your advisory location. At home learners can bring any supplies they’d like to donate to the Myers gallery on Thursday, Friday and Monday by 4:00… the advisory from every grade that has the most participation will win a special prize ;)! Please keep track of who donates in your advisory.

If you have any questions, please reach out to Mrs. Farmer or Mr. Olson. Have a great start to your year, and we’re so excited to kick off service projects for the 2020-2021 school year!

Until Club Draft officially takes place in September club leaders can meet Wednesday mornings to begin thinking about recruitment and year goals. Students that are not involved in clubs yet do not need to be on campus until their first class (with parent permission). Wednesday 8/26 the Freshman class will be giving their election speeches so they are expected to be in the PH at 9:15am.

Please remember that anyone leaving or returning to campus at any time for any reason needs to have parent permission. You can use the link below to sign in and out but parent validation is required. Parents may also use the link below.
