The Literary Magazine is accepting submissions!
October is the month where the leaves start to change, the temperature begins to drop, and the nights get longer. All of these changes lend themselves to an element of spookiness which is mirrored in the celebration of Halloween at the end of the month. Write a piece:
-
Where a monster is disguised as a character OR a character is disguised as a monster
-
That takes place somewhere that appears normal upon first glance, but isn’t
-
About a fall (this can be the season, an object falling, or a metaphorical fall like a fall from grace, etc.)
Submit your pieces here! You DO NOT have to respond to the prompts; submit any pieces that you have!
Mid-Semester Progress Report (PR1)
We want to remind you that the Mid-Semester Progress Report (PR1) is coming up on Friday, October 10. Please be aware that any student who receives a grade below 70 in any required course (Math, Science, Humanities, English, and World Language) by the PR1 will be considered at risk of failing, These students will be assigned to a mandatory study hall during free periods and will not be eligible to participate in sports and extracurricular activities for a period of fifteen school days. This means no playing, practicing or traveling with the team, or participating in any extended school activity.
This is a great time to check in on your progress! We encourage you to use the time leading up to PR1 to complete any missing assignments or assessments. Don’t hesitate to reach out to your teachers if you need help!
