Congratulations to the One-Act Company for advancing to the GHSA State Competition. We are providing a Spirit Bus to cheer on the cast. Click here to save your seat.

Students will depart the Spartan Center at 3:00 pm on Saturday, November 3 for the competition in Warner Robins Ga. More details to follow!

The Spartan Book Club is reading The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky.  We will meet during club time on November 12th to discuss.

Submit to the Scholastic Arts and Writing Awards! Due Dec. 31

Teens in grades 7–12 apply in 29 categories of art and writing. Panelists look for works that best exemplify originality, technical skill, and the emergence of a personal voice or vision. Students receiving Gold Keys, Silver Keys, Honorable Mentions, or American Voices & Visions Nominations are celebrated within their communities through local exhibitions and ceremonies. Gold Key works are then judged nationally. National Medalist are recognized in part at the National Ceremony at Carnegie Hall in New York City.

Everyone who is interested should submit their creative work! Congratulations again to Charlotte Luke who received the Silver Key award in last year’s competition.

You are invited to the Athens Youth Symphony’s performance at 4:00 on November 11 at Hodgeson Hall. We have a number of our students performing. Come support and enjoy!

From the College Counseling Office

Seniors applying for regular decision should submit their blue sheets to Dr. Reid and Dr. Rogers as soon as they can. All sheets must be submitted before Nov 9. Don’t forget to also complete a transcript request (available here). Even though both forms are necessary, it is the  blue sheets that drive the process — and should therefore be submitted ASAP.
