Student Body Officer (Executive Branch) Election Schedule

Executive Branch: President (Senior-must have served on Student Council for one year), Vice President (Junior- must have served on Student Council for one year), Communications Director (Junior or Senior- served in a leadership position at school), Finance Director (Junior or Senior- served in a leadership position at school), Events Director (Junior or Senior – served in a leadership position at school)

Next Monday, April 1, Student Life Time (PH): Student Body Officer Speeches followed by electronic voting.

ACCGOV Seeks Rising 10th-12th Grade Students for Mayor’s Youth Commission

The Athens-Clarke County Unified Government (ACCGOV) is seeking applications by Sunday, April 7 from rising 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students who are interested in taking part in the new Mayor’s Youth Commission. Eligible students can attend public or private schools or be homeschooled, but must be Athens-Clarke County residents.

Activities for the 11-member Mayor’s Youth Commission will run from September through May, with one possible summer meet-and-greet session, and require at least five to eight hours of commitment each month. Youth Commissioners can serve up to three years of September through May terms. The inaugural Mayor’s Youth Commission will help determine more details about the program.


Cum Laude is next Thursday, April 4. This is a special dress day. Please look to see if you have something appropriate to wear! Thank you! Here is our schedule. Please note that Wednesday, April 3 is a Day 5 (no late start) and Thursday, April 4 is a Day 4.

8:10-9:25 – Period 4
9:25-10:40 – Period 1
10:40-10:55 – Break
10:55-11:55 – Period 2
11:55-1:25 – Period 3
1:30-3:20 – Cum Laude Induction

 

Abigail Springer, Grant Brown, Anannya Das, Kavya Menke, Sarah Bart and Zach Daniels will be performing with the Athens Youth Symphony on April 6th at 4:00 at Hodgeson Hall. It’s going to be good! Come support!
