Doherty
Congratulations to junior Philip Doherty for being named SPARTAN OF THE WEEK (week of October 12): Philip does an excellent job, working long hours behind the scenes, serving as the Wirecast Director, producing webcasts for the Spartan community.  He decides when “live” cameras, pre-recorded media, and “Instant Replays” are shown and solves numerous technical problems that occur during these productions.”  Mike Callinan, Webcast

The October issue of the Spartan Review is here! Read about everything from the arrival of Pumpkin Spice Season and Varsity Volleyball updates, to how colleges are handling coronavirus! Check it out here: Spartan Review

“We are lucky to have Lauren Winborne, founder of STEERSMART, come back to our school to present on a very important and valuable topic- safe driving. She travels the nation speaking to high schools and colleges about the things they don’t teach you in driver’s ed school. Her approach is direct and informative and she continues to do this because she knows how important the message is. Sophomores are required to be in the Harrison Center Presentation hall by 8:55am on Wednesday, October 28th and will be dismissed to their Period 1 class immediately after the hour long presentation. Please do check out the website to learn more about the program.”

The Spartan Book club will be reading The Invisible Life of Addie Larue by V.E. Schwab this month!  If you would like to join us in discussion of this novel, we plan to meet on Wednesday, November 18 at 3:30 in T103. All are welcomed and encouraged to attend!  Please see Sarah Harrison or Mrs. Street with questions.

A masked and distanced event!

You are invited to the Drama Club Movie Night on Oct. 24, 2020.  The event will be held at the MS Green Basketball Court and field house from 7-9:00 PM.  Bring your blankets to sit on, blankets to wrap up in, and you might want to bring a blanket just in case!  You also might want to wear warm clothes and bring a chair, water bottle, and personal snack food. We will be distanced and masked.  Our feature film for the evening is the new Addams Family.  In addition to watching the film, we will also play Addams Family Trivia!  Make sure you RSVP to Ms. T by noon Saturday, Oct. 24, 2020.

Protect others and our wildlife:

Dispose of masks responsibly!

Since the start of Covid-19 and the new widespread use of masks, there has been a big increase in disposable masks found littering natural spaces – including our own campus! With their earstrings, masks have a similar effect as the rings of plastic can and bottle holders – birds and other wildlife can become entangled in them and die ! Not only that, Covid-19 may contaminate the mask itself, so anyone who kindly picks one up to drop in the trashcan could become infected. For these reasons, French Club is asking everyone to either cut or pull off the strings from your disposable masks and toss them directly into the trash cans to prevent the spread of Covid-19 AND wildlife death

Merci beaucoup!

The French Club
