 National French Week

November 4-10, 2020

Athens Academy French Club invites you to join us in celebrating National French Week!  Keep an eye out for posters with interesting French trivia displayed around campus! And here is today’s French phrase often used in English:

avant-garde: in French the term avant means “before” and the term “avant-garde” refers to the “advance guard” in an army – those who lead the way! In English we say something is “avant-guard” if it “leads the way” in any field (but most often in music or art) by breaking with tradition to break new ground, applying unorthodox or experimental techniques.

Thank you so much for being diligent about wearing your masks! A few of you are still having trouble and for clarification, here is the process for you:

1. A faculty member will give you a warning.
2. After the warning, that faculty member will infract you and you will serve detention. This will be communicated to your parents as well.
3. After you serve detention, if another infraction occurs, you, your advisor, and your parents will meet with Mrs. Zalac and there will be escalated consequences.
