Photo retakes will be available the morning of Thursday, October 7 in the Lower School Discovery Center. Upper School students can drop in any time between 7:45-11:45 a.m. Please note that once a student has a retake, the original proofs from earlier in the year will no longer be available for purchase or use in the yearbook. Also, if you did not get your picture taken the first day of school, you MUST go Thursday!

Artificial Intelligence, Humanities and Ethics Program Taught by Yale Graduates: Winter ’21

Inspirit AI is a 25-hour enrichment program that introduces middle and high school students to fundamental artificial intelligence concepts in order to work through socially impactful projects in areas including art, healthcare, education, law, and more. Developed and taught by our team of graduate students from Stanford and MIT, students receive a personalized, interdisciplinary learning experience with a student-instructor ratio of 5:1, and custom curriculum appropriate for complete beginners to more advanced students. Seniors:

During the month of October, Ms. Evans will be returning from maternity leave at a reduced schedule, with full-time hours beginning on November 1st, so that she can help with college essays. Sessions will be offered starting the morning of Friday, October 1st (that’s right, you can get some essay help before the afternoon homecoming festivities!).

Students can meet with Ms. Evans at any stage in the essay writing process. You can brainstorm together, look over drafts, address revisions, or tackle the supplemental essays. You do not need to send her work ahead of time–just bring your questions, drafts if you have them, and an open mind!

There are lots of sessions open starting next week (and one left on Friday). Please click here to access the College Essay Google Calendar for upcoming slots. Reach out to Ms. Evans if you have any questions, concerns, or issues accessing the calendar.

Progress Reports go out on October 22. If your grade(s) fall below a 70, you will be put on academic probation. Work hard and be in touch with your teachers. We want you to do well and know that you can! Please see our policy regarding this.

Artist Spotlight: Seager Hunt

Seager is an incredibly talented artist and has been a lot of fun to teach. He is a hard worker and asks the right questions. Lately, Seager has been working on different styles to broaden his range. He most recently has taken on photorealism and modern impressionism. We are excited to see what he does moving forward.
