Honor Council Nominations

The student-led Honor Council is essential to the proper functioning of our honor system and the strength of our school community. In order to create an Honor Council that is representative of and has the support of the student body, the process for selecting candidates relies on nominations from the members of the class.

First thing on Monday, May 8, you received an emailed Honor Council nomination ballot for your class. Read the instructions to see the number of people you can nominate – select those who you believe possess honor, morality, and integrity, and who have the strength of character to uphold the honor code and act as role models, even in difficult circumstances.

Nominations will close at 4:00pm on Tuesday, May 9.

The election of the members of the Judiciary Board will take place next week.

Bring in some books for the Latin Club book drive! All the books donated will go to Books for Keeps in Athens. Books in any condition are appreciated. Collection bins are in L103. Email Mark Tribble or Mr. Butler with any questions.

Snapshots, a showcase of the ACAD acting classes, will take place WEDNESDAY NIGHT at 7:00 in the PH.

Student performers will be Sofia Dean, Emiliana Korin, Mikaella Murph, Anya Patel, Reese Jarrard, Emilee Storz, Will DeLoach, Lucy Rentz, Sadie Jordan, Annie Luke, Sarah Harrison, Charlie Sanderlin, Hadley Spurlock, Jackson Memler-Jones, and Renee Cargill.  Admission is free and everyone is welcome!

May 11- Peer Support Project (PSP)will sponsor a “Being a Jerk is for Dum-Dums. Choose Kindness” table at the end of the driveway below Ms. T’s classroom during both lunch periods. PSP will be giving away free dum-dum lollipops to all that stop by the table!

May 17 –  Peer Support Project (PSP) is setting up their annual “Kindness Shakes the World” table on May 17.  PSP will be making and serving vanilla milk shakes with a toppings table during both lunch periods.  Weather permitting, the group will be set up at the end of the drive way under Ms. T’s balcony.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month. There is a lot to do between now and the last day of school so be sure to spend at least 30 minutes a day focused exclusively on yourself and your mental well-being. To help you do so, check out information from the Jed Foundation. If you continue to struggle, keep in mind that there are people in your life who are able to help. Just reach out and ask.
