WHO: ACCGov is seeking applications by Sunday, August 16 from 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students who are interested in taking part in the Mayor’s Youth Council. Eligible students can attend public or private schools or be homeschooled, but must be Athens-Clarke County residents. Applications can be submitted at www.accgov.com/youthcouncil.
WHAT: The goal of the Mayor’s Youth Council is to encourage effective youth engagement in Athens-Clarke County while providing an opportunity for youth to learn more about the workings of ACCGov.
WHEN: Council members will attend meetings twice per month on Wednesday evenings from September-December, adding up to a time commitment of about 6 hours/month. Selected applicants will be interviewed in late August, with the first council meeting happening in early September.
