UGA VETCamp applications now open!

VetCAMP (Veterinary Career Aptitude and Mentoring Program) will house up to 52 high school students on UGA’s campus for seven days. At VetCAMP, students will be involved in various activities aimed at evaluating their skills and competitiveness as future veterinarians, providing mentorship and helping them experience veterinary medicine as an exciting career path. Click here to view a video that was produced from VetCAMP 2018.

The seven-day-long on-site summer program will provide opportunities for observation of and participation in various services in the Veterinary Teaching Hospital, the Poultry Diagnostic and Research Center and the Diagnostic Laboratories, as well as a field trip to the Georgia Aquarium for a behind-the-scenes view of the facilities.

Other activities include information sessions on admission requirements, research opportunities, the curriculum, study abroad opportunities, and other undeserved specializations in the field of veterinary medicine.

Applications are open to 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students and can be accessed by clicking HERE.

9-11 grades, please arrive to advisory by 9:15 (instead of 9:25) so that we can take attendance and not be so rushed. With your advisory, please walk to the Spartan Center at 9:20. Advisory: 8:10-8:25

Period 1: 8:32-9:20

Period 6: 9:27-10:15

Period 3:  10:22-11:05

Period 4: 11:12 – 11:48

Lunch and Period 7: 11:55-1:25

Period 5: 1:32-2:30

Walk to Pep Rally

TODAY is a Spirit Dress Day (Athens Academy T-shirt or Sweatshirt with dress code appropriate bottoms). Please WALK (do not drive) to the Spartan Center at 2:30 – start heading over right then. Cheerleaders, Pep Band and 12th Man should be dismissed at 1:50 to prepare for the pep rally and do have permission to drive to the Spartan Center.  Everyone needs to go to the pep rally – it is mandatory and fun! Get spirited!

Don’t forget the Spartan walk at 7:15! We’d love for everyone to arrive by 7:00! It’s going to be packed. BLACK OUT!
