Calling all creative writers! The Scribe Writing Contest is an online creative writing competition designed to give high schoolers a chance to hone their writing in a focused timeframe. You must register by April 30, 11:59 PM EDT to participate. The contest will be made available on scribewritingcontest.org between May 2, 12:00 AM and May 3, 11:59 PM EDT. You can choose to start at any time within this window; as soon as you do so, you will be given two hours to submit either a poem or short story in response to a prompt. Entry is free. Participants will have the opportunity to have their work reviewed by a panel of seven award-winning English and creative writing professors. Winners will receive cash prizes, too. If you have any questions, reach out via email to scribewritingcontest@gmail.com.

Honor Council Nominations

 The student-led Honor Council is essential to the proper functioning of our honor system and the strength of our school community. In order to create an Honor Council that is representative of and has the support of the student body, the process for selecting candidates relies on nominations from the members of the class.

On Monday, April 27, you will receive an emailed Honor Council nomination ballot for your class. Select up to 6 people who you believe possess honor, morality, and integrity, and who have the strength of character to uphold the honor code and act as role models, even in difficult circumstances.

Nominations will close at 4:00pm on Wednesday, April 29.

The election of the members of the Judiciary Board will take place next Monday, May 4.

The link to the performance is: https://vimeo.com/404678995 and the password to get in is 9Bottom5. It’s available for students to watch as much as they like until April 19th. This is a special treat for Athens Academy, so enjoy the play with your families, but please don’t share the link outside of our community.

There is some live music at the beginning while the opening credits roll. If you want to skip the concert and get straight to the Shakespeare, the show proper starts at the 12:41 mark.
