Today is election day for Most Important Organelle! This morning an electronic ballot went out to the Class of 2023 and all Upper School Faculty.  It is time to cast your vote for Most Important Organelle!  Please be sure to vote by 5pm today.  Happy voting!


A message from the Honor Council:

It is currently a very busy and stressful time of year. Don’t forget to continue asking questions when you have them. We encourage you to be proactive and have honest conversations with your teachers. The Honor Council appreciates your help in preserving our culture of trust at Athens Academy. Let’s finish the semester strong!


This Wednesday, Nov. 20th is our World Language Honor Society Induction. This is a Special Dress Day! See below for details:

  • Ties, dress shirts, and dress pants are required for boys.
  • Professional-length skirts, dresses or slacks, and blouses are required for girls; a general guideline for length is mid-thigh.
  • Dress shoes are required (athletic shoes are not permitted).

Tomorrow,  Tuesday, Nov. 19th is a Dress Down Day. See below for details:

  • When announced, T-shirts are permitted (logos must be appropriate for our school environment) and must be free from rips, holes, and tears.
  • Athletic wear, which includes shorts, sweatpants, non-transparent leggings, and yoga pants, is permitted.

Honors Biology Most Important Organelle Campaign 2019 has begun!  Though cellular organelles are normally an organized group working together, certain organelles have gotten the notion that they are more important or perform a more important function than their other fellow organelles. Therefore they have decided to have an election to determine once and for all who is the most important cellular organelle.  Campaign posters are up in Ms. Neves’ room (SA105), and today and tomorrow the candidates will begin handing out their campaign informational pamphlets.  Be sure to grab them all so you can be educated voters!!  The faculty and the entire freshman class will have an opportunity to vote in the election via Google Ballot on November 18.  More information will come as the election season continues!!

Wednesday morning meet in the PH at 8:30 for attendance. If you are part of a group that is not required to be here, you know who you are. The day officially ends at 2:00. You must return to school to check out at the front desk.


Letterman jacket fitting and ordering will take place during both lunch periods in the Tillman Center, Wednesday, Nov. 13th.


Today we will have long advisory at 10:15.


Next Tuesday, Nov. 12, join us for lunch in the Chambers Center to discuss bullying.


National French Week:  November 4-10, 2019

Athens Academy French Club invites you to join us in celebrating National French
Week! Each day we will offer a useful French phrase for you to learn – give them
a try! (Sound spellings will help you pronounce them!  ) Watch for French trivia
posted around campus this week, and for some culinary enjoyment, on Friday, we
will offer French cheese tasting during lunches (stop by our table in front of
Lampkin!) Hope to see you there!
