“The Math Club has a new service opportunity for juniors and seniors willing to tutor other students in Math! Students would help out the Math teachers during regular tutorial hours by answering questions and assisting students feeling stuck. The time commitment is completely up to you, and you can help out anywhere from once a month to multiple times a week based on your interest.

Marie Curie, a pioneer in physics and chemistry, is celebrated for her groundbreaking research on radioactivity. Her discovery of radium and polonium led to significant advancements in medicine, particularly in cancer treatment.

The glow-stick necklaces are a fitting symbol of Marie Curie’s legacy, as they emit light through a chemical reaction similar to the radioactive decay she studied.

Just as the glow-stick necklaces emit light, Curie’s work illuminated new pathways in scientific understanding. By learning more about Curie’s life and contributions, we hope you gain inspiration and appreciation for the power of scientific inquiry and the importance of perseverance in the face of challenges.

October 25 Upper School Night (3)

Don’t Forget about the Diaper Drive now thru Friday!

Diapers are not covered by government assistance programs such as WIC or food stamps, yet diapers cost over $1000 per year. This is an economic issue as well as a health issue, because babies need diapers to attend daycare, allowing parents to go to work or school.  In the Athens area alone, over 8,000 children are in need of diapers.  As well as helping local families, the Athens Area Diaper Bank has also been supporting hurricane relief efforts around the state to keep babies healthy & happy.

To support babies and families experiencing diaper need, you can donate diapers of any size or quantity (open boxes or packs are accepted!) any time Oct. 21-28.  Drop off at the Deans’ Office. Let’s help every child in Georgia stay clean, dry, and healthy!  Thank you for considering this worthy cause.

Club Locations on Friday!

Student Council – Art Room
Judiciary Board – W3
French Club – L106
Spartan Review – Writing Center

Congratulations to freshman Joci Higginbothamfor being named
Spartan of the Week(Week of October 14):

SOTW 2024-25 (2) 5415117

“Joci has been working hard this season and that hard work is really paying off! She has been solid both offensively and defensively on the court and has played her best volleyball these last couple of matches as she stepped up for our team in our area tournament matches. I am looking forward to watching her develop as a player even more and excited to see her volleyball career take off! Congratulations, Joci!– Jane Thomas, Head Coach Varsity Volleyball
