Congratulations to Charlotte Luke and Nick Wieczorek for being selected to serve alongside Davis Slate in the Athens Peer Court program. This is the sixteenth group of students to join Athens Peer Court, which was founded in March 2012. The
program has over 40 volunteers that serve as the advocates, judges, jurors and bailiff in disposition hearings for youth who have been charged with first time offenses. The program is a collaboration between ACC Juvenile Court, UGA’s J.W. Fanning Institute for Leadership Development, the Department of Juvenile Justice and UGA’s School of Law student organization Street Law. Our next training will take place in

UGA Summer Young Dawgs—The University of Georgia Young Dawgs Program is a high school internship program designed to provide high school sophomores and juniors opportunities to do an internship at UGA. The summer dates are May 28 to July 3. There is no cost to participate. Students must have a minimum 3.7 GPA. Jim Geiser will be on campus Wednesday, August 29 with more information or you may also contact Jim Geiser at jgeiser@uga.edu.
