The mock trial team put in three really good rounds on Saturday at our Region competition! We unfortunately did not place well enough to advance, but Lucy Rentz and Collin Edge were recognized for being 4-year participants, Lucy Rentz was recognized as Best Attorney in both of her rounds, and Renee Cargill was awarded Best Witness in her round. The whole team put in so much hard work this season and the coaches are very proud of them!

The Spanish Club would like to thank everyone for their tremendous support of the Pulsera Project. There is one last opportunity to buy a pulsera: tomorrow during break on the Lampkin Patio! They look fun on your backpacks, keys, lunchboxes: whatever! Once again: MUCHAS GRACIAS POR EL APOYO FENOMENAL.
16 ACAD students participated in last weekend’s UGA High School Model United Nations Conference, representing the countries of South Africa and Poland. They did great work in competition with over 500 students from around Georgia. Special congratulations go to sophomore Joshua Xie, who was recognized with an Honorable Mention Award for his work in a crisis committee called “The Death of Stalin”!
“Ben was very focused in practice and worked extremely hard. He tied for the team lead in scoring last week averaging 19 points & added 5 rebounds per game. January has been designated Mental Wellness month. It’s a month dedicated to you checking in with yourself and taking the time to improve your life in the areas that you can control. Many people do this in the form of resolutions but all of us can do this by reading and implementing some of the strategies in these Wellness Toolkits. The Emotional Toolkit is a good place to start. If you need additional help on anything, know that Mr. Sears and others are ready and available to be helpful to you.
